- I began my beauty career in retail and makeup artistry and fell in love with the transformative power of makeup and its ability to allow us to show up in the world as our most confident and authentic selves. As I was working towards my degree in cultural anthropology at UCLA, I began to fuse my fascination for human behavior and individuality with my love for beauty and knew I wanted to get behind the scenes to create the beauty products that allow for the self-expression that makes humans so unique. I started in product development 7 years as a coordinator, learning all the ins and out of the industry, and for the last year I have been leading the product development team at Urban Decay. During my retail and artistry years I spent countless hours listening to consumers on what they really want their makeup to do for them, and I use that experience to create products that deliver the shades, formulas, and packaging that solve problems and inspire our inner artists.
