- Frank Friel is an accomplished cosmetic formulator with over 24 years of expertise in color science and product innovation. He began his career at Estée Lauder, where he developed a broad portfolio of formulations spanning lipsticks, lip glosses, pressed and loose powders, and the full eye category, including mascara, while building deep technical expertise in the face foundation category. Frank’s true passion lies in creating high-performance, modern emulsion-based makeup. Over the course of his career, he has become a recognized expert in complexion products, including concealers, primers, BB & CC creams, and, most notably, foundations. His work reflects a strong balance of technical precision, aesthetic excellence, and consumer-driven innovation. In addition to color cosmetics, Frank brings significant experience in global cosmetic drug development, including SPF, anti-acne, and other regulated products tailored for markets around the world. His international leadership experience includes heading formulation teams in Asia, where he lived in Shanghai, China and led skincare and makeup innovation initiatives for all of Asia-Pacific. Today, as Head of R&D at Precious Labs, Frank leverages his deep technical knowledge, global perspective, and leadership experience to drive innovation and continued growth. Together with his team, he is committed to advancing the fast-paced, high-quality cosmetic development that Precious Labs has become known for.
