As a clinical researcher and formulator, AJ saw how underserved consumers with melanin-rich skin and textured hair are in cosmetic science, and built SULA LABS - a leading B2B beauty lab that closes inclusivity gaps in beauty product development & clinical testing, with clients in retailers like Sephora, Ulta, CVS, Bergdorf Goodman, and many more. Named as a Top 30 Beauty Product Developer, AJ's inclusivity-based approach to cosmetic science research is published in peer-reviewed journals, and she is a TEDx speaker, and a Pharrell Williams Black Ambition Grand Prize Winner. She engages heavily in cosmetic science communications with bylines in magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Essence, InStyle, Beauty Independent, and through global research talks. She is ultimately driven by her passion for using chemistry for social change.
